17 February 2008, a.m.: Ponder creating new London shopping Web site. E-mail friends with brilliant idea. Wait for response.
17: February 2008 p.m.: Wander through Harrods with Julie. Discuss idea some more. Decide idea is viable, and that we are highly entertaining.
18 February 2008: Launch London shopping blog unofficially. Write three posts. Research, research, research. (Loosely translated as "Shop, shop, shop.")
19 February 2008: Add links to the "best of" similar sites.
21 February 2008: Write two more posts. Join Amazon Associates. Make widget for Paperchase notebooks. Sign up for five affiliate programs. This is hard because I only have five posts. But the worst they can say is no!
22 February 2008: Cath Kidson and Boden up on the site! Try to install Google Analytics. Fail, even though I put it in the bottom right column like all the blogs say. Go back to Sitemeter instead. Submit sixth program request.
23 February 2008: L'Occitane up on the site! Commented and linked to another blog.
Sign up for another affilate system, which was more labor intensive than it should be. Firstly, it told me I already had an account under my gmail address, which I'm pretty sure I don't. So I tried to log in with my gmail address using the "Forget password" feature, but it told me I didn't have an account! So then I tried using another e-mail address, but that didn't work either because when I had to type in the code, it started with 2z, but the 2 looked like a Z, so I kept typing Zz. Oh, and then the site told me I was successful, but the e-mail I received said I'd been rejected because I didn't enter a Taxpayer ID. (A US number. I had put -- in this field.) So then I had to start all over again. But I was finally successful. And then I took a closer look at the programs available and didn't see anything that fit in with the tone of my site...so I am probably not going to use it.
Discovered the 2008 Fabbies and was sad I hadn't started blog sooner. Spent way too much time surfing and analyzing the nominee sites in the Accessories category.
Wrote about Eve Lom special at Peter Jones.
Received first inbound traffic from a comment I posted on I, Bejeweled!
